What a Terrific Welcome Back Week!

Last week I had the opportunity to reunite with faculty, associate faculty, classified staff and management to share the highlights of my annual State of the College report and share goals and updates for the upcoming semester.

Over the course of the week, I presented my State of the College report titled, “A Culture of Excellent.” The title for this year’s report was inspired in-part by being named the number one community college in California by Schools.com. Saddleback’s collegewide commitment to excellence is also clearly stated in our vision, “To be the first choice of students who seek a dynamic, innovative, and student-centered post-secondary education.” To be the “first choice” we must excel, and our culture of excellence is led by one of the most talented, driven, results-oriented, and student success-focused teams of faculty, staff and management in the college’s history.

With that, I would like to share with you the Top 10 Projects for the 2015-2016 academic year:

1. Enrollments
2. Institutional Effectiveness
3. Accreditation
4. Economic and Workforce Development
5. Instruction, Student Services, and Administrative Services Operating Guidelines
6. Title IX Coordinator
7. Reinventing Student Services
8. Employee Training and Development Survey
9. Disaster Preparedness Training
10. Governance and Organization Manual

One of my favorite parts of Welcome Week is the welcoming of the new staff and full-time faculty. This year I had the pleasure of introducing the following individuals who join the Gaucho family:
